John and friends meet the donkeys and alpacas
The donkeys and alpacas were on their best behaviour today when John and friends visited. Bubbles the cria came across to see if there was any milk coming, bit the weirdest thing was Esme who came across for a cuddle. I was gob smacked. She made herself comfy with us. I think perhaps she could smell the carrots we had been feeding the donkeys. It was very unusal behaviour. I just hope she is not poorly!

Donkey and Cria update
Stu managed to groom one of the donkeys this evening with a soft brush. They loved it. They are getting friendly by the hour. Cria wise, Bangles is doing great and Bubbles is putting on weight but still unsure how much of that is our bottle feeds or from feeds from Camilla? We have spent hours observing today but hard to tell.
Lovely weather for ducks.
The weather today was full of heavy showers and nasty looking clouds. Nasty weather for walking dogs, but great for the ducks.
Everyone loves a cuddle.
My parents arrived today and ee quickly introduced them to the rabbit, ducks, cria and donkeys. We allowed them a quick cuddle with the new cria before letting the girls back in their big paddock and new field shelter.
Noah's Ark or scene from the Nativity????
Today it was raining cats and dogs, oh and alpacas and donkeys. We made sure the donkeys were nice and cosy in their new home and the alpacas decided to gatecrash to avoid the nasty weather. When I looked across it reminded me of a Christmas Nativity scene crossed with Noah's arc. They all seem to really get on.

Beautiful baby Bubbles
Decided to call Camilla's new cria Bubbles because she is bouncey an bonny despite not getting the feeds she needs from Camilla. She tries so hard to suckle but Camilla won't have it. Also when we bottle feed Her she makes bubbles so her name is very fitting. -
The ducks get adult feathers.
Our ducklings are more like ducks now. Lots of adult feathers are through and they are starting to find their voices. We like to give them quick waddles around the kennels when the dogs are in. Still hopefully we have two or three females and still convinced Kenco is a girl.
Mark relaxes at the kennels.
Tracey and Mark popped over on Wednesday to see the new arrivals. They also picked up an old chaise long that we had aquired and they plan to clean up for their house. Mark gaves us a demo on how to relax on it. -

Cria number two is born to Camilla
Camilla had her baby today. Another gorgoeus brown girl with a bit of white on her chin and mouth. She was also born about 10.30. I kept checking on Camilla all morning. Then I noticed she was in barn sitting down, next minute she is with a baby who is already standing. Her off spring get on their feet very quickly. This time her milk has come in and afterbirth delivered, unlikely last year with baby Sophie. Bit worried because baby not feeding yet, she is trying hard but Camilla not playing ball. # end

Meet Bangles the alpaca
Alice's baby will be known as Bangles because she was born on the busiest day of the year so far at the kennels. The Bangles sang a song called Manic Monday so we felt it was very fitting to call her Bangles. Now she has fluffed up she is looking much bigger and her mocha coloured coat is a little lighter. She is a goregous colour. We will re-weigh her tomorrow as not sure how good the scales were, we think she was 17lbs on day one.
