Monte's tick
Over the past few months I have had to remove lots of ticks from dogs and cats for friends, clients or my own pets. Having sold tick twisters for the past 5 years I know that ticks are on the increase across Europe, not just Devon. It is very important to remove a tick properly so you get all their mouth parts out safely and an O'Tom Tick Twister does just the job. I do think prevention is better than cure and use Advantix spot-on on my dogs at certain times of the year. However recently Monte got a tiny tick on his eyelid and we really struggled to remove it. We left it to get a tiny bit larger and were going to take him to the vets if we could not suceed. I have never been beaten by a tick yet. Finally we got it off. Poor Monte he was so good, was just such a hard place to get he hook in to remove it. Don't forget to be vigilent, ticks can attack humans too.
